TULSA, Okla. – Nearly 1,900 acrobatic, rhythmic and trampoline and tumbling athletes will descend on Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 2023 USA Gymnastics Championships June 19-24 at the BOK Center and Cox Business Convention Center. Olympians, World champions and medalists, and the country’s top youth athletes all will compete.

The 2023-24 U.S. Junior and Senior National Teams to be named in each of the three disciplines. Performances also will help determine selection for several international events in late 2023, including the 2023 Rhythmic Junior and Senior World Championships in Romania and Spain, and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

The event kicks off today (June 19) with Development Program competition at the Cox Business Convention Center; elite competition will be held Thursday, June 22 through Saturday, June 24 in the BOK Center.

Acrobatic Gymnastics

Headlining the acrobatic field in the BOK Center are reigning World champions and five-time U.S. men’s pair all-around title winners Angel Felix and Braiden McDougall. The pair, along with 2022 U.S. women’s pair all-around champions Mo Arthur and Ariana Katsov, each will defend their all-around titles from last year’s championships. Felix and McDougall made history at the 2023 Rzeszów World Cup earlier this month when they became the first American men’s pair to win an Acrobatic World Cup Series title.

Also aiming to repeat as U.S. champions in Tulsa are the senior women’s group from Emilia’s Acro Gymnastics and Cheer of Mariam Tutberidze, Grace Vonder Haar and Kayla Vonder Haar. The group have earned a bronze medal in each of the three acrobatic World Cups this year. After winning the 2022 men’s group all-around with groupmates Sam Lacy, Cade Shields and Dorian White, Ethan Chang will return to the floor as a 13-19 men’s pair with partner David Vonder Haar. Other units who will vie for national accolades in Tulsa after finding success this season include 13-19 women’s pair Olivia Green and Allyson Stone; 13-19 men’s pair Vlad Studwell and Davis Leavitt; the 13-19 women’s group of Abigail Novoseletskiy, Cate Lacy and Cecelia Shadrick; 12-18 mixed pair Hailee Wong and Andrew Castro; and the 12-18 women’s pairs of Maya Lissenkova and Bernice Moshos, and Molly Fox and Sydney Dorais.

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Amid an already eventful 2023 season, the USA Gymnastics Championships will see rhythmic gymnasts compete for a spot on the National Team for upcoming international events. Olympians Lili Mizuno and Izzy Connor highlight a senior field that includes 2022 U.S. ball champion Alexandria Kautzman; 2022 U.S. all-around, ball and clubs bronze medalist Erica Foster; and former junior stars Jaelyn Chin, Deanna Georgieva and Yana Golovan, who are all in their senior debut season. Coming off an impressive Pan American Championships showing, junior Rin Keys hopes to move into the top all-around spot after placing second at last year’s championships behind Chin. 2022 U.S. junior all-around bronze medalist Ksenia Potoski looks to climb the ranks, while Megan Chu, Natalia de la Rosa and Erika Rusak all vie for spots on the all-around podium after making their mark internationally.

Rhythmic competition in Tulsa will also feature junior and senior group action. Connor, Daria Merkulova, Gergana Petkova, Katrine Sakhnov, Karolina Saverino and Hana Starkman look to reprise their roles as Senior National Group members. The junior group from North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center of Goda Balsys, Annabella Hantov, Kristina Lee, Greta Pavilonyte and Alaini Spata seek national titles and another year on the Junior National Team.

The Grand Hall in the Cox Convention Center will be the home for all Development Program competition beginning Tuesday, June 20 until Saturday, June 24. All schedules and rhythmic information can be found on the event website.

Trampoline & Tumbling

With the number of participants at almost 1,000, trampoline and tumbling will have a dominant presence at both venues. Olympians Nicole Ahsinger and Aliaksei Shostak will be joined by teammates of the silver-medalist 2022 World all-around team including Miah Bruns, Cody Gesuelli, Zachary Ramacci, Isaac Rowley, Jessica Stevens and Sarah Webster.

Reigning U.S. and World double mini champion Ruben Padilla has his sights set on his third double mini title at the USA Gymnastics Championships, while 2022 U.S. and The World Games tumbling champion Kaden Brown hopes to stay on track for his fourth U.S. tumbling gold.

Top junior returners include 2022 U.S. junior women’s individual trampoline champion Leah Edelman, 2022 U.S. junior men’s individual and synchronized trampoline and tumbling champion Xavier Harper; 2022 junior women’s tumbling champion Brooklyn Jolley; and 2022 U.S. junior double mini champions Micah Miner and Rosalie Thongphay.
